You are a consultant hired by an organization (your choice) to analyze the 4 functions of management.
Provide a brief introduction about the history, product/services it provides, future expectations, etc. In
the body of the paper, you should include the below mentioned points and conclude with
recommendations (if any). Formal report format is required, i.e. Title Page, Table of Contents,
Introduction, Body, Conclusion/Recommendations, Reference/Bibliography. Harvard-style
referencing is mandatory!

The report should try to include the following topics/areas:

1. Planning:

i. Life Cycle,

j. Strategy formulation (low cost, differentiation, single business, diversification, etc) –
Mandatory

2. Organizing:

a. Organization chart – type if structure and why chosen or appropriate -Mandatory

b. Culture, climate – Mandatory
c. communication channels and the flow of information;
d. what type of employees, what skills, training and development
e. incentives for motivation, etc.
3. Leading:
a. Founder,
b. BOD,

c. Management/leadership style.

4. Controlling: What control mechanisms are used
a. TQM (Total Quality Management), ISO?
b. MBO,
c. What criteria and techniques, standards, and measurements of performance are used
by the organization.
d. IT? Al?

Critical thinking and analysis are important. Most of the information will have to be researched but
more importantly, applied by you. The organizations will not readily provide you with all the above-
mentioned topics. Therefore, begin early, apply critical analysis and course material.
