Texas is a state in the United States of America, and thus part of the system of federalism within the Union. Actions that the federal government in Washington, D.C. take will impact Austin (state government) and all Texans. Your task is to identify a proposed or passed bill by the Federal government from the list below that you believe may have a positive or negative impact on Texans, and write to your elected representative taking a stance on whether Texas/Local Government should embrace the bill or legally challenge the bill.

You cannotuse NVC as a destination address, as there is no way to get the letter to you if someone responds.
A date that the letter is written.
A salutation (Dear Senator’s Name/Dear Representative’s Name).
Several paragraphs, usually with an introductory paragraph, followed by a paragraph or two that either shows support for your chosen item of legislation or your opposition to it and why the legislator should concur with your stance(s). A concluding paragraph is also helpful. Remember to write this letter as a constituent (resident in their district/state), not as a student fulfilling a project for a grade.
A valediction (Sincerely/Very Respectfully/Thank you/etc).
A signature block (a place to sign the letter, followed by your name.)
Sources: If you use outside sources, you do need to cite them on a separate page or document away from the 1-2 pages of the letter. Citations should be in MLA. You do not need to worry about document formatting of MLA or in-text citations.
