There are many aspects to strategic management which need to be tailored to the particular context of the Hospitality and Events sectors. You are to critically assess the nature of the Hospitality and Events sectors which give rise to the specific application of strategic management approaches. You must use industry examples to support the points you make.

Some thinking points to consider: –

What are the particular characteristics of the hospitality and/or events sectors which are relevant for understanding how organisations within these industries use strategic management in a specific way? –

What strategic management issues are raised by hospitality and events sectors being predominantly service-based?

How are the factors you have identified interlinked/connected? –

What examples can you use to support the points which you are making?
