One of the principles of servant leadership is empowering others. When responding to complex emergencies, it is essential to empower those affected by the emergency and those helping to respond to it. This means giving them the resources and support they need to be successful. It also means listening to their input and ensuring their voices are heard (Coetzer et al., 2017). Furthermore, A servant leader should listen to all involved to ensure that the decision benefits all stakeholders. In the case of the delivery of humanitarian help, listening is not a consideration, given that all people that need the help should get the help in a non-discriminate manner (Coetzer et al., 2017). The availability and access to resources predominantly influence the harmony between capability building and helping the resident people; with unlimited availability and access to resources, the administrator can achieve capacity-building and support the local community (Coetzer et al., 2017). On the other hand, with limitations in resources, the administrator must apply the resources to maximize benefits in stability among capacity-building and backing up the indigenous people.
