1. You will be responsible for selecting a criminal case that has progressed through the criminal justice system (ex. Casey Anthony case, or Tara Grant case)This will consist of researching the case from the description of the crime (including criminal profile, victims, investigation, criminal charges), through the prosecution, court process and final disposition of the case. This doesn’t include open cases, the cases has to have a final disposition. Students should incorporate all 3 components of the criminal justice system (police, courts and corrections).

2. The criminal case selected must be approved by Professor Bowlin. The case study will not be an active case. Every student can not complete the same case.

3. This Power Point will consist of 8 – 10 slides (not including the title slide or reference slide). Slides should be clear, using good graphics and print. Do not clutter slides with too much – often, 2 slides are better that one to get a point across. Follow MLA and writing references for formatting located within week 0. (Note: 8-slides is the minimum, students may need additional pages to cover their criminal case. I will be asking and having students present their PowerPoint to the class for discussion regarding the case and the criminal justice system throughout the case.

4. The Case Study PowerPoint grading rubric is listed below.

** All assignments have to be turned in either by a Word Document or a PDF file ( doc, docx, and pdf).

** Canvas will not let me open any other type of formatting. Pages from Mac will not open in Canvas.

ALL turned in assignments will be typed (following MLA Guidelines-located in Week 0) and uploaded in a file for that assignment. I WILL NOT accept pictures, answers written on a phone in the note section, handwritten or a computer screen shot of your homework!
