When I was younger I was extremely fascinated with pregnancy and babies. This fascination led me to working with kids and their expectant mothers. From the age of 14 – 22 I was working with a family of three kids two of which are twins. Over the years I helped the mother with her 1st born throughout her whole pregnancy and this fueled my passion for to become a L&D nurse.

Over the years I helped the mother with her 1^st born throughout her whole pregnancy and this fueled my passion for to become a L&D nurse.

An excellent RN to me is someone that is compassionate, empathetic and knowledgeable. When I started my first RN job in the ER I told myself to also do my best at practicing these characteristics. When patients come to the ER they most likely seeking medical attention because something was very wrong. That is why no matter the situation I always treat patients with respect and compassion.

I want to work in labor and delivery because I want to further my nursing knowledge and become a part of a team that bring life into the world. Like I mentioned before, I have always been fascinated in pregnancy and newborns and during my OB rotation in school

I also have experience with infant loss at the surgery center I work at we preform D&Cs for missed abortions giving me knowledge in comforting mothers
