  1. What are the key message points (KMP’s) presented in the advertisement?
  1. What market forces drive the key message point(s) in the advertisement? Are there external market conditions or cultural forces that link or align with the KMP’s?

Consider market segmenting, targeting, and positioning:

  1. Describe the target audience for the ad – who is the advertisement aimed at? Describe the demographic. Include evidence that supports your answer?
  1. What type of consumer offering would the advertisement fit under?

Consider the factors that influence a buyer’s behavior:

  1. What is the general ambience of the advertisement? What mood does it create? How does it do this? How well does the ambience of the advertisement align with the target audience?
  1. What action is taking place in the advertisement and what significance does it have? (This might be described as the ad’s “plot.”)
  1. Does the language and ambiance used in the ad attempt to be informative or generate an emotional response, or both? Why is this important?

Consider the results the advertisement intendeds to generate:

  1. What is the primary call to action (CTA) embedded in the advertisement? How would you measure success in relation to the CTA?
