Video Field Observation Paper

Please write a 5-10 page paper that analyzes your understanding of effective instruction and teaching as a profession by connecting to information from our course content specifically YouTube videos, textbook/readings, class lecture notes etc.

Section 1: Teaching Pedagogy

*In this section you are required to cite MORE than 4 videos from our course.

Write a 2-4 paragraph statement that discusses your teaching pedagogy.

Compares and contrasts your own belief about teaching with what you have learned from this course about effective teaching.

Specific prompts you can/should discuss:

What do you believe are 4 important elements of an effective teacher?
What is the difference between a good teacher and a great teacher?
What is the main purpose of school?
What will be your teaching style in the classroom
What are your main goals as a teacher? (Discuss 3)
What is the most important thing you want your students to learn in your class?

Section 2_Classroom and Culture

Discuss how what you learned from this course (textbook/reading, videos, discussions. etc.) about the concept of culture and how it relates to being an effective teacher.
Identify and discuss 2-3 concepts, best practices, adapted instruction techniques that should be used by teachers to support students who experience academic difficulties.
What was the purpose of this concept/best practice etc. (what were the supposed benefits in using it)?
How does this concept/best practice relate to what you have learned from our course materials (textbook, videos, class discussion/notes)?
What assessment strategies are most effective for supporting:
All students in a classroom

You must utilize MORE THAN 10 key terms in your Field Observation Section 2 paper
You must include and cite MORE THAN 9 videos from our required videos list.

Citing YouTube Videos:

To cite a video within your text you will need the title of the video, e.g. “(The IEP Team).”
If you are citing a video within your text and you are referring to a specific scene or quoting a line then you will need the title of the video and the specific time marker e.g. “(The IEP Team, 1m:25s).”
To cite the video in your works cited section you will need the name of the website, the title of the video and the URL address (do not add the quotation marks).
