Be sure to include textbook connections in this section. This portion of your paper should include 1-2 paragraphs with at least 3-5 sentences per paragraph.

 Article Review Assignment Instructions

Overview

For these assignments, you will research a journal article that studies a topic related to marriage coaching. You will review the findings of the article and relate it back to a coaching setting. An empirical research article is one where the writers have researched a hypothesis and conducted a study. You will want to summarize the methods (what they did), results (what they found), and the discussion (what they think about what they found) of the study. If an article doesn’t cover these three sections, it is most likely not an empirical study and you will need to find a different article to review.

Instructions

For these assignments, you will critique a journal article found in the Jerry Falwell Online Library. You will select an empirical research article published within the last 5 years that pertains to the provided prompt:

−        For each Article Review Assignment, you will compose a critique discussing the research as directed by the prompt.

o   The assignment must be between 500–700 words.

o   Please use the Article Review Template for the layout of this assignment.

o   Include the assignment name, student name, and course name and number at top of page. Do not include a title page.

o   Place the reference of the article in current APA formatting at the top of the review.

−        Each assignment must be formatted in current APA.

−        Only include information from ONE journal article published within the last 5 years.

−        Each review will be written in four sections: Summary, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Coaching Connection.

o   The summary of the article should consist of 1-2 paragraphs. This section will acquaint your reader with the main ideas of the article.

o   The body of the paper will discuss the methods, results, and discussion of the article. Each of these sections should be a paragraph in length and include information from the article that pertains to each section.

o   The coaching connection section will discuss potential applications to marital coaching, including how you would use the information gleaned from the article in a coaching setting.

It is important to note that you should not include ANY direct quotes in this assignment. All work should be summarized in your own words with included citation where necessary.
