The Juvenile Justice System is a set of institutions that have been organized to manage established procedures as a way to achieve justice for juveniles. Research in juvenile justice covers many different areas and can consist of one or more of the institutions. The police, juvenile courts, and juvenile corrections make up these institutions. In this research paper, students will address a topic that relates to the Juvenile Justice System. 

TOPIC: Relationship Between Parental/Family influence and juvenile delinquency

The Juvenile Justice System is a set of institutions that have been organized to manage established procedures as a way to achieve justice for juveniles. Research in juvenile justice covers many different areas and can consist of one or more of the institutions. The police, juvenile courts, and juvenile corrections make up these institutions. In this research paper, students will address a topic that relates to the Juvenile Justice System.

Some examples of topics are child protection, corrections/detention, courts, delinquency prevention, gender/race/ethnicity, health, law enforcement, offenders/offenders, schools, or victims. These are just general topics; each one can and should be looked at on a deeper level.  Students may also look at individual cases if they are interested. Almost anything relatable to the Juvenile Justice System will be acceptable.

Students will write a modified research paper on their topic. The paper will be needs to be:

1. A) At least 5 pages (Not including title page, abstract, or bibliography)
2. B) Double spaced
3. C) 12 point Times New Roman font

The format should be:

1. Abstract (150-200 words)
2. Introduction
3. Literature Review (this should be the longest section)
4. Conclusion
5. Bibliography (at least 6 sources and least 5 need to be academic sources)
6. Use APA/ASA/MLA/or Chicago style

Late assignments lose 5 points per class period
