Social psychological experimental research seeks to control and manipulate social environments sufficiently to allow us to scrutinize and examine specific issues with some precision. A small body of social psychological research has been conducted on people with privileged identities examining diverse issues from their awareness of privilege to the ways privilege shapes how they interact with others to how people respond to having their status as privilege questioned. Considering one or more of the issues raised in lecture and readings this week, make an argument about what we can learn about privilege from this body of scholarship citing specific examples from at least two readings and incorporating lecture material.
