The task is as follows:

1. Select a nursing theorist or historical figure that has had an impact on nursing. You will be able to find any number to choose from in your reading assignment.
2. Explore the individual’s life, accomplishments, and major contributions to nursing. How did the contributions benefit nursing then and today? What was happening at the time may have influenced this individual and their contributions.
3. Information will be presented professionally in a Powerpoint that will be approximately 10-15 slides in length and should include a title slide as well as a slide listing references.
4. You will elaborate on the content of each slide by voicing your comments. To add voice-over: click on the slide show tab, record slide show, and current slide to begin recording.
5. There should be at least three references. Historical data and references may need to be over five years old.
6. Post the completed Powerpoint presentation in the designated assignment dropbox.
7. Refer to the presentation rubric guidelines.
8. Refer to the course calendar for a due date.
9. Tips for developing the presentation:

Avoid too many bullets on a slide

Avoid too many words on each bullet

If your historical figure has developed a theory, make sure you clearly address the above criteria and not just present the theory.

Do not copy and paste into your presentation.

Do not read word for word from the Powerpoint.

Remember any content included that is not your own has to be cited and referenced.
