ASIA 1111: FILM RESPONSE (15%)
The purpose of this reflection is for you to respond to a film and show whether you can assess its reliability as
a source. Do not provide a summary. Instead, mention at least 3 points in the film that struck you, made you
think, or disturbed you, or made you happy. Then think about the film overall and whether or not it did a good
job. Connect the film to concepts and ideas we have learned in class (dharma, the caste system, etc).
This also gives me an opportunity to assess your writing skills. If you have never written a formal paper, or
struggle with written work, then the following is a service you can use for help:

You will choose one of the assigned films and provide a response which includes the following.
1. At least 3 specific examples from the film. Cite the point at which it occurs (ex/ 15:27).
2. What did the film do well? What could the film have done better?
3. Proofread and edit carefully. (Also make sure you name the film and director).
