Each module requires you to write a 1-3 page (not including the cover and reference
pages) position paper thoroughly discussing the material presented during the
week. APA citations are expected, an abstract is not.
In this module you discussed the elements of power, specifically, the role the military
plays as an element of national power. As history has taught us, the military cannot be
the only answer to every problem. Therefore, it cannot be the only source of power for
the nation. While it is important to project a strong military, it is also crucial to nurture
other elements of power as well.
One term you may be familiar with is the term “soft power”. Although some people may
not think soft power has the same value as hard power, it is appropriate to explore
whether or not soft power can be useful to a nations’ strategic objectives. .
With this in mind, and after reading the article “ The Decline of America's: Soft Power (Links
to an external site.) ” by Joseph S. Nye, explain whether or not soft power has any value
or relevance in today’s environment. While you may agree or disagree with the author of
the article, the intent is to analyze, based on the knowledge gained in the module
whether soft power is crucial to the nations’ objectives.

arguments on research.
