A Message from The Office of International Education, Diversity, and Inclusion: Indigenous People’s Day We welcome you to join us in honoring and celebrating Indigenous people on this Indigenous People’s Day, 11 October 2021. We acknowledge the harmful legacy and indelible scars of colonialism in the United States and its impact on the diverse community of Indigenous people. We also appreciate the resilience and continued contributions of the native communities to our campus and the region. We especially thank our students in the Native American Alliance for their presence and engagement. We invite UP Community members to learn more about these original caretakers of the land on which the University of Portland now sits:
