physical processes behind physical and chemical weathering

We discussed the physical processes behind physical and chemical weathering. I also
showed several examples of the distinctive landscape features in mountain landscapes
that are indicative of these weathering processes that created them.
For this assignment, I’d like you to travel the world and find your own examples of
these weathering features using Google Earth (Links to an external site.). For each of
the features listed below, find the best example you can anywhere in the world (the
examples I showed in class can’t be used again – sorry!).
For each feature, provide the following:
1. Google Earth screen shot clearing showing the feature.
2. A short description of the location; where is it? what does it show?
3. A short description of how the feature formed.
4. A short description of how the conditions at that location (weather, slope, aspect,
geology, vegetation….) played a role in creating the feature.
Here are the weathering features that you need to find examples of in mountain
regions:
Physical Weathering Features Found in the Mountain Landscape:
1. Talus Slopes and/or Cones
2. Land slides
Chemical Weathering Features Found in the Mountain Landscape:
1. Carbonation
2. Oxidation
