Nowadays creativity is often mentioned and high encouraged among business scholars in educational institutions and professionals in workplace, essentially it plays an essential role in the society by providing advanced procedures and progressive ideology.

Nowadays creativity is often mentioned and high encouraged among business scholars in educational institutions and professionals in workplace, essentially it plays an essential role in the society by providing advanced procedures and progressive ideology.
Per textbook, as defined, creativity is the method that generates ideas or innovate based on pre-existing situations. (Malcom, Sandra, 2017) To explain creativity in simple way, it can be understood as the idea of originating something new and new ways of doing something.
The idea of originating something new means the tendency to bring a new phenomenon into exist which is not duplicated with those have already been known. One example could be the idea of design and invent new product that is not in use or in production. It also can be the idea of expressing new thoughts that is not existed in current social norms, examples can be found in abstract arts, new theories. Which changes the way of social life. (David, 2022)
The idea of new ways of doing something means the tendency to bring an innovative or an alternative way that is different from the existing recognized ways to doing something, especially in problem solving. Examples can be found in those innovation way of marketing such as new advertisement that claims to fulfill potential customers’ needs; as well as the software update based on current user experience feedback. Creativity plays as the origination role in these cases.
Past experience: previously when I was working for an online car dealership, I observed that some of customers were struggled to choose between similar models of cars and what’s worse, some of them regret after the purchase. I used to generate an idea that match the “regretting” people and connect them to each other if they want to switch to the counter party’s car. I believe I had this sort of creativity by observing the problem and connect to possible solutions by thinking their ways, then bring into the idea. By switching to accounting field, I will be using my creativity similar way by communicating with clients and generate some creative ways to help them provide the proper documents.

For me, creativity is coming up with a unique idea to get something done, maybe better or more efficient than earlier methods, or coming up with a solution to a problem that was not thought of before. According to the web article (The importance of creativity in business, 2021), the article states that creativity can also help differentiate the business from other businesses, and help attract customers.

I have used creativity in my career a few times. One example which comes to mind is coming up quickly with an audio/video (A/V) solution for the company All Hands meetings when the business started doing them in person after the pandemic restrictions were lifted. We did not have the proper equipment on hand since it is all on backorder due to supply chain issues happening everywhere, but we made do with some webcams, lapel mics, Bluetooth speakers, and spare laptops in the meantime before we have the proper A/V set up. The goal of the meeting was to be able to present to both in-person and online attendees at the same time, and we were successful in creating this solution through these ite
