In this task you will be selecting one behaviour or lifestyle choice to investigate further. Choose from:

• Poor sexual heath
• Work-related stress
• High alcohol consumption
• Recreational drug use
• Cigarette smoking
• Lack of physical activity
• Poor diet
• Obesity

You will continue on to develop and implement a health promotion activity around this selection so please consider it carefully; it is recommended that you discuss your selection with a line manager to identify if there is any reason why one particular behaviour or lifestyle choice investigation would be beneficial to the service or staff (remember health promotion extends beyond patients so your activity can be implemented with staff rather than patients if preferred).

Using your learning and own research, write a report addressing the following points:

• State the behaviour or lifestyle choice selected and reasons for your choice (this could be personal of service related).
• Describe the effect this behaviour of lifestyle choice may have on an individual’s health and wellbeing (only complete this if your chosen behaviour or lifestyle choice was not already described in assessment task 1)
• Misinformation and perception:
  1. Describe the effect that misinformation and perception may have on health and wellbeing (general overview).
  2. Investigate your chosen behaviour or lifestyle choice and describe the effect of misinformation and perception specific to this topic.
• Social and environmental factors:
  1. Describe the influence that social and environmental factors may have on health and wellbeing (general overview).
  2. Investigate your chosen behaviour or lifestyle choice and describe the influence of social and environmental factors specific to this topic.

You should structure a report of your findings under the following headings:

Title page (including your name)

Introduction

Content        

Bibliography (please use the report writing guide for help with the format if necessary)

This report of your findings must be in your own words, typed and submitted using the digital link. Please make sure you take the time to proof read before you submit. There is no word count guide for this task.
