= Mezzo – Agencies, doctors’ offices, hospitals (i.e., EHRs, integration with PHRs, communication with individual
patients)

~ Macro – Big data, government

For your chosen level:

1 Review and describe the population level (which level, specific population; ie., groups with diabetes).

2. Review and describe how health informatics technology, software, and policy implications impact the population level

3. Pick your favorite online medical resource or intervention tool connected to or used for your population level. Outline
the features that make it worthwhile. Compare and contrast these features to other online resources. What distinguishes
your favorite from other offerings? If you could, how would you change it? Do you find yourself supplementing with
additional resources? If so, which ones and why?

4, Describe ethical implications involved for this population and/or the resources you describe. Search through current
(within last 10 years) news media and find an example of an ethical issue related to health informatics and the
Population level you are working with. Summarize what happened, including the basic interrogatives (who, what, when,
where, why, how). Include the severity of the concern, how did the situation occur? Could it have been prevented by
taking additional planning measures? If so, what could have or should have been done? Be sure to reference whether
the basic provisions of HIPAA and/or other health information legislation or policy standard appear to have been followed
or violated,

5. Compile the information in a 3-4 page report for a healthcare group like an agency or organization. This paper should
follow current APA guidelines.
