Response 1: Does sex testing invade athletes personal privacy?

I ask about the affect of sex testing on personal privacy because some athletes may be embarrassed or uncomfortable with their medical sex compared to certain natural hormone levels. Testing for sex instead of drugs seems to be unethical because a male could have naturally high levels of estrogen and a female could have naturally high levels of testosterone. Is it fair to say that if a person’s natural hormone levels skew from the average that they are not allowed to compete in certain competitions? If an athlete has different than average hormone levels and is embarrassed about it or personally is uncomfortable with the idea of being a woman with high testosterone levels for reasons outside of sports, it may not be fair to alienate them within the sports world and even punish them for things they cannot fully control.

Response 2: Why is sex testing chasing women away from sport?

Sex testing has gone on for decades, but for whatever reason they only test females, and not men. A private firm called World Athletics decided to do these tests on women, they do it If the women act “too masculine” and can end their careers in a heartbeat if the tests came back bad. The standard to these applied are also racially biased. A women can be a freak athlete but can never show how athletic they are if they are sex tested and deemed viable for them to be banned from playing the sport that they have trained for for years.
