Learning Goal: I’m working on a english writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

YOUR TASK: For this assignment, you will take the writing skills you have learned throughout the course and will develop a 4-6 page (not including Works Cited) source-based argument. This assignment will measure your writing skills as well as your ability to locate, integrate, and properly cite sources (a minimum of SIX) using MLA format.

   • 4-6 typed, double-spaced pages (about 1000–1500 words), 12 pt font size, Times New Roman
   • MLA formatting (see the MLA Format page as needed)
   • Submitted as either a .doc, .docx, .pdf file with your first and last name in the file name.
6. Submit your final version of your essay as a single file upload.

Given all the time and effort you have put into developing each component of this essay, you will want to make sure that your final draft represents your best work. Ask yourself the following questions before clicking submit:

• Does my introduction proceed clearly from the opening to the thesis?
• oes each body paragraph have a clear main idea that relates to the thesis?
• Do the main ideas in the body paragraphs flow in a logical order? Is each paragraph connected to the one before it?
• Do I need to add or revise topic sentences or transitions to make the overall flow of ideas clearer?
• Does my conclusion summarize my main ideas and revisit my thesis?

If you answer “no” to any of the questions, return to the paper and revise. Remember you will be evaluated on the four bases of effective writing: unity, development, coherence, and sentence skills.
