Below is my first working draft at my executive summary for the upcoming project.

Executive Summary

Purpose and method of this report
The base installation maintains numerous military families with pets throughout all parts of the base, with a variety of different work schedules and there are constant issues with finding immediate pet boarding services when deployments happen in a short notice.
The purposes of this report are to:
– Determine the cost and effect of having a military friendly pet boarding service on the base
– Recommend ways to bring military friendly pet boarding onto the installation

Extensive secondary research was conducted to determine the better needs of the military members would want in a pet boarding service on the installation, to include conducting polls to see where the military members are currently relying on their care for the pets currently.( I.e, on base family, friends or coworkers or off base care.)

Findings and conclusions

There are preconceptions from soldiers residing at the installation that there is a huge need for immediate care for troops pets that create hardship if they are to not have the immediate care available. The dependence on family and friends does not work out really well by which causing more issues with the overall arching mission if the troop is focused on their pet more than the mission downrange. Findings have concluded, that depending on family and friends can be stressful for all parties involved and can cause a financial strain on parties that are not professional care takers. Furthermore, seeking immediate care off the installation is currently the best option for professional care but also the most expensive kind as well, which off base care centers might not be able to hold troops pets for the length of deployments, causing more stress.

The results of this study show that military friendly boarding service on the installation is a necessity for the military member.

Recommendations for obtaining care for troops pets on the installation

Recommendations for obtaining long term boarding care for deploying troops pets on the installation:

– contract military friendly professional pet boarding services that are affordable for the military member

– Hire military friendly professional personnel that can operate pet boarding services during odd hours to best support the base.

Executive summary

Purpose and method of this report

Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) are designed to increase school engagement with students, educators, and parents to improve educational outcomes and enhance communities. Following the return to in-person classes for the 2022-2023 school year, the Frederick School District Parent Teacher Association (PTA) reinitiated its operations. As the calendar approaches the halfway mark, the PTA board members have noted that the organization now suffers from both a lack of participation in PTA-organized activities and from a decline in budgetary funds. Attendance and registrations in school functions and sports teams is down twenty-five percent relative to the 2018-2019 school year. Revenue is down thirty-five percent relative to previous year averages. The purposes of this report are to:

• Determine the causes of the decrease in engagement with the PTA
• Recommend ways to drive increases in patriation and fund-raising

A survey was administered by the PTA and provided to parents of children currently enrolled in the eighth grade. Participants were asked if they regularly attend PTA-sponsored functions and if they contribute to fund-raising efforts. If answered in the negative, participants were then prompted to provide the reason for their response

Findings and conclusions

Close to sixty percent of the respondents indicated that they did not participate and/or donate to the organization. Several common reasons were listed including: not seeing the benefits in engaging with the PTA; not having sufficient funds available; uncertainty on how funds would be spent; and not having a simple way of learning about upcoming events and activities. The results of the survey demonstrate the need for a PTA that is better adapted for the modern-day education community.

Recommendations for increasing PTA engagement

• Creating a webpage that allows for a calendar-wide view of upcoming activities and events
• Building links to specific calendar events that allow for digital donations and explanations of how funds will be utilized
• Implementing a program for those who are in underrepresented or financially-difficult groups to participate
• Developing links that show impact of prior PTA efforts and the benefits the PTA can offer students, schools, and communities
