3. Explain how a successful safety culture may be built in an organization using SMS and contrast that to the hazards presented by a weak safety culture.
4. Explain how you would use SMS to reduce the risks of runway incursions and taxiway incursions. Data may be found in the ASRS database and on the FAA Safety Team site as well as on Skybrary, Use examples to build your arguments.
5. Using SMS to mitigate loss of control in flight hazard.
6. Use of SMS to mitigate runway overruns (the hazard is inability to stop on runway).
7. Dealing with language differences in radio communications: the hazards and the controls.
8. The impact of SMS on aviation safety and airport safety in the USA since 2009.
9. The organizational latent failures impact on aviation safety.
10. Impact of pilot shortage on global aviation safety: can SMS help deal with it?
11. Hazard analysis of single engine night IFR flight.
12. Hazard analysis of pilot lack of IFR currency.
13. Or any topic of your choice that you would like to relate to SMS

You may have other ideas on what you want to do for the subject of your research, and you should feel free to use your own ideas for the paper, you are not confined to the above potential topics.

Papers must follow APA 7 format, have between 5 and 8 references related to your research, must be 10 to 15 pages double spaced size 12 font (Times New Roman font is preferred), and the page count does not include reference citation page and cover page. If you want to write an abstract at the front, feel free to do so. Number your pages centered at the bottom, do not forget to place your name on your work, course identification, and a title and date.. Section headings make a paper look better organized so feel free to use them:

Most of you will probably do this as a literature search rather than survey or experimental research so be sure to state that in your methodology.

You may use archival data (ASRS, NTSB, AOPA, Flight Safety, FAA Safety Team, EASA, etc.) and if you are using statistical analysis of data you may present it in graphical or table form. If you intend to do a survey or interviews you may need to obtain Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval to use human subjects and will have to demonstrate that their identites will be protected by deidentification and confidentiality of indivdual research subjects.

If you are worried about spelling or grammar you may use Grammarly to check your work, but be aware that it is only a toll and might not be 100% right all the time amd it sometimes does not explain whay it requires a change.
