• Conditioned response is a response due to conditioned stimulus, a response that has been learned in this case, students becoming fearful of the principle is the conditioned response. This response has been learned after the conditioned stimulus is presented (students becoming fearful of the principle while the principle is checking in the classroom) (Grison and Gazzaniga, 226)

• Conditioned stimulus is a stimulus that elicits response only after learning has taken place. In this case, developing fear among the students is a conditional stimulus. (Grison and Gazzaniga, 226)

• As mentioned in the chapter, the strongest conditioning of the stimulus occurs when it is presented slightly before the unconditional stimulus. In this case the preschool teacher can achieve a stronger controlled response (which is instilling fear among students) if the controlled stimulus (which is the principle checking into the classroom) is presented shortly before the unconditioned stimulus.
