1) When Hurricane Sandy Hit NYC it was something nobody was prepared for, For years we all had this weird misconception that a hurricane couldn’t hit and destroy the city because of all the buildings and high rises that we have but we were sadly mistaken and our response team was no where near prepared. In this incident initially the governor just had us in a state of emergency the president didn’t really say much THey wished well and stated the federal government will aid in recovery Which made the road to rebuilding even longer. The bigger collaborations were with the American red cross and the Federal Government. NIMS is used for all events and incidents, including emergencies and special events; the NRF is activated only for designated events or incidents. NIMS coordinates the response structure at emergencies and significant special events; the NRF governs the resources used during and after the designated event or incident. Dual status commanders can direct both federal active-duty forces and state National Guard forces in response to domestic incidents. With these kind of resources its sad how many people got hurt how much things were destroyed and how long the recovery efforts took.

2).The recent disasters that happen near me was hurricane Ian. Which wipe out part of our west coast. With the floods and the rain. It took out a ton of power lines. Some people are still recovering from the hurricane. A lot of people are still trying to get there house together and stuff after the hurricane. It’s just been a lot to do and to get done. I honestly don’t think the president respond to the hurricane we just had. But I know the govern waited last minute. To declare an emergency for the Florida which caused confusion and ruckus because. A lot of people we rushing trying to get out the state to be safe. A lot of people also didn’t get paid for the hurricane either.
