In this assignment, you will identify someone who represents you in Congress and gather some basic information about that person. Here are the instructions:

Go to the website for the U.S. House of Representatives (house.gov). Under “FIND YOUR REPRESENTATIVE” in the top right corner, enter your zip code and click “LOOK UP.” If the site asks for additional information, such as your street address, enter the information and click the “FIND YOUR REP” button. When the site finds your representative, it will load a page with his photo on the left. Beneath the photo, you will see a computer icon next to a mail icon. Click the computer icon, which will load your representative’s web page. Use the page to find the following information about your representative. You may also use other web sources if you want. Be sure to write down the information.

All cities in Texas where he has offices

A brief description of one bill he has supported

Go to the website for the U.S. Senate (senate.gov). Under “Find Your Senators” in the top left corner, use the drop-down menu to select Texas. This will load a page listing the two U.S. senators from Texas. Choose one of them, and click into his web page. Use the page to find the following information about him. You may use additional web sources if you want. Be sure to write down the information.
