PART ONE RESEARCH :MARRIOT HOTEL
Here is a copy of the

CSR Plan Template 2022.docx that you MUST use for this assignment.

For your Case Study, you selected a global hospitality or tourism company and reported on that company as it exists today and discussed the sort of CSR activities they are doing so far. For the CSR Plan, I want you to take a different approach; we are going to assume that you have been hired by that company and are expected to present to the boss what you believe should be changed or included in the next year’s CSR plan.

Case Study = what the company is and has done up to present day. You were reporting on the company as an outsider.

CSR Plan = what you believe that the company should do in CSR next year, based on what you know about the company’s mission, its past & current CSR strategy and what you’ve learned in this course. You are to write this as an insider and one that is expected to actively support the CSR effort within the company.

You will see that you are going to be using some of your Case Study material as a foundation (such as your chosen company’s mission, vision, goals, CSR strategies and CSR initiatives). Just shift the point of view to being internal, 1st person, vs. external 3rd person. Remember too that you don’t need to put a lot of things that your boss would already know.

Once again: Do not write this from scratch in a blank Word document; you must use the template as your guide and keep the same section headings. Do not change the formatting to different fonts or spacing. You will submit this in Word

PART TWO
Course reflection 6

1) According to your book, what are some of the challenges faced by migrants and refugees?

2) Search online for a nonprofit organization in Miami (or near you) that provides services to refugees and migrants. (In Miami, some of these are the International Rescue Committee, Catholic Charities of Miami, Church World Services, and the Refugee Assistance Alliance, among others.) Briefly describe the services the organization provides to refugees and migrants. How do these services relate to the challenges you described in question 1?

PART THREE

The point of this step is to make sure that you are not just doing something to help, but that you are intentionally and thoughtfully considering the outcome of your actions. Below, I have briefly explained the aspects that need to be included in this step, but note that the easiest way to get a sense of this step is to look at the example assignment. Also, be sure to consider Dr. Mueller’s feedback on your Step One as you proceed through Step Two.

First, choose one of the contributions you suggested in Step One and write a 500-word plan on what you do to accomplish your contribution. As noted above, your plan should address the following questions:

  • A clear step-by-step description of exactly what you are going to do. The key to success here is being very specific; again, see the example as a guide.
  • What you think the outcome will be. Who will benefit from your project? How will they benefit? How do you think you will be affected by participating in this process?
  • Possible difficulties you may encounter… and how you will address these difficulties. Back-up plans are key!
  • The advantages and disadvantages of attacking the problem using your strategy. As you have (hopefully!) learned in this class, social problems are multi-faceted and it is impossible to address all sides of a problem with one action. Why did you decide to address the problem in the way that you did? What does your action leave undone? Could you possibly damage your cause by addressing it this way?
