Recon: Throughout the semester, we have examined how the US Criminal Justice System perpetuates institutionalized racism. Now, construct a compelling argument that highlights a specific form or forms of racism perpetuated through the judicial system. You may consider any aspect of the system to investigate. You will primarily support your assertions with evidence from class readings as well as other reliable sources. You must incorporate at least 3 readings from the course: You will find innumerable resources in the Recommended Reading section on Blackboard. In short, you will argue that the problem (as you defined) exists and support your assertions with credible, cited evidence.

Mission: Consider the contemporary social situation. What language choices would be the most appropriate to appeal to your audience? Consider your audience to be Americans who may not believe that this problem exists in modern society and be sure to adopt an appropriate voice. Remember the ultimate goal is to persuade your audience. Consider using a variety of persuasive techniques (logical and emotional) to be most effective.

Length & Format: 3-5 double-spaced pages, with one-inch margins and 12-point font.
